The Irish Aerial Championships began in May 2005 and is all about getting out there , going huge and getting it on film! The idea behind this competition is to push our sport and encourage people to experiment with new moves so buckle up and go big!! The categories are as follows:
1. Biggest Air In Ireland (Male, Female and Junior):
The biggest aerial manoeuvre thrown by an Irish paddler
2. The Karnage King:
The most horrendous beat down suffered by an Irish paddler
3. Best Still Photograph: Quite self explanatory really!!
4. Biggest Downriver:
"Basically its the freestyle realm taken to the downriver realm!" Make proper use of your playboat on creek runs... Kickflips, macho moves.... its all good... giddy up!!
5. Most Innovative Use Of A Kayak
When there's no rain and no rivers... innovate!
